Sew Happy....

Here's a few pics of the felt cupcake workshop at Fancy Coffee Shop.

I for one had a really enjoyable time and have received lots of positive feedback from my lovely ladies. I get a lot of pleasure from my hobby of 'making things', and I'm glad I'm able to share it all with others.

Everyone went home with their finished felt cupcakes, happy with the results.

The next workshop, crocheting a granny square has lots of interest and is on the 4th December, at Fancy.

Zero Calorie Goodies

I thought I would take a picture of the cake stand on my kitchen window sill.  These aren't particularly staged but as I make bits they go there all together and look quite a good display.  I've crochet the Oreo and Jammy Dodgers (pattern with kind permission of www.accordingtomatt.blogspot.com), the Jaffa Cake is made from felt (http://britishcreamtea.co.uk/) as is the cupcake.

Daisy Rag Doll

Last Saturday I went to a fabric sale at The Lane in Bedford. It was run by Jo Flannery of School of Craft. There were loads of quality fabrics available but I was really good and only bought some felt (for cupcake workshop) 4 fat-quarters and a book called Meet Me at Mike's.
With my fat-quarters I wanted to make a rag doll, more of a childhood reminisce than for my baby daughter!  I made her in a few evenings and my middle daughter thinks she looks very posh!
Her hair and shoes are made of felt and I found some lace in my stash to sew to her hem.
I can feel more rag dolls coming on - poor Daisy is lonely!

All materials are provided and only basic sewing skills are required.

Decide on flavour – chocolate, red velvet, vanilla or carrot cake and decorate with beads, embroidery stitches or crochet flowers and embellishments! Go home with your finished cupcake and pattern

This cushion design was taken from a craft magazine, I thought it was so cute I just wanted to make it but had no idea who for.  My sister-in-law then had her baby girl Abigail and I figured it would be a perfect present for her.  The cushion is pink spot cotton and the bunny is felt appliqued on.
